War: How do we find peace?

I am writing this article to you on Armistice Day when at the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1918, the peace treaty was signed ending World War I.

How do we achieve peace in the Ukraine and Gaza?

In improving the way humanity chooses to live, I have always felt it will be a bottom-up evolution with the masses deciding what is the right way to live, forcing our national leaders to change the way they behave.

However, there is nothing stronger than the anger of one nation on another nation. We are seeing this in Gaza/Israel and Russia/Ukraine. In these circumstances I feel it will take a special sort of leader(s) to achieve peace.

To achieve lasting peace, it will be necessary for the waring nations to find the Middle Path between opposite views that both sides can live with.

The Middle Path is very hard to determine. In a war scenario there is a very fine line between courage and cruelty.

Heart breaking stories have been reported on families broken and killed in their homes by the Hamas raid into Israel. Yet the bombing on Gaza is equally affecting families.

My belief it takes a good and strong, heart led leader(s) to determine the place between courage and cruelty. Is the action of a nation at war justice or revenge? This pivotal middle point needs to be determined whether it is in a war situation or everyday life or business life.

A good leader must be sensitive to the boundary between justice and revenge in all the decisions they are making.

To be able to do this effectively, the leader needs to be incorruptible, not upset by slander nor desire riches or power from their actions. He/she needs to be able to sense and know what is the right action and to be the healer of human hearts. I believe;

A strong leader is connected to their intuition and can hear their guidance from Spirit.

National leaders bear the heaviness of life and human activity. Purposely I use the term ‘leader’ rather than ‘ruler’. A ruler has jurisdiction over something that is already formed. But a good leader guides a nation forward quite literally into the future, shaping and forming it.

The responsibilities of a leader are great.

In those around him/her, the leader must determine who is speaking from sincerity or pretence. In a highly pressured situation, this is not easy. The leader needs a pure heart to only accept council from those with equally a good heart and thereby be able to bring the good to the people. It is hard to find the right path through the maze of war.

How do our national leaders measure up against these challenging requirements?

I am reminded again of my Middle Eastern friend who said many people will make great wealth re-building Gaza and the people harmed or killed in this war are just acceptable collateral damage.

To find peace, we need to find leaders with pure hearts and a strong connection to their intuition.

If you live in a democratic country, it is you and me who vote our leaders into power. Perhaps you can consider the characteristics of a good leader the next time you go to a voting station…..

Follow your dreams and find your happiness

Life is meant to be lived and enjoyed.  It is true everyone has challenges to help us to learn. But alongside that we are meant to enjoy this wonderful world we live in. The sight and the sound of the sea always lifts my emotions and makes me feel good. Simple things like this brings me joy.

Everyone should have a dream of how they would like their life to be.  Dreams are made to be followed.

Do you remember your dreams?

Everybody dreams but sometimes it is difficult to remember them. If this is the case, before you go to bed write on a piece of paper a question about something you would like to happen in your life. Leave the rest of the paper blank with the pen on top of it beside your bed. Your soul will not be able to resist giving you something during the night to write on it.

As soon as you wake up, before you even put your foot on the floor – write whatever comes to your mind. Make some notes about the ideas and dreams you were given.

It is very easy to lose these ideas if you do another activity, even running to the bathroom or making a quick cup of tea. As you have your morning shower think some more about what you wrote on the paper. Some more ideas might come to you. Quickly add them to you piece of paper.

Do this for a number of nights and see what your dreams are telling you. The dream could be literal but it could also be symbolic. You will need to consider which it is. Dreams can be more fantastic than everyday life.

Your dream may include a visit from a passed loved one. Consider if they gave you good council in their life time.

Sometimes the dream is about something in the future which may not be meaningful until you get there.

How did you feel when you woke up?

Dreams can inspire you, alert you to a future potential danger or just be full of love, support and information.

You will need to consider the dream to know what it is saying to you. Then think about;

What action should you take to honour the dreams you are having?

It could be you need to research something to understand the full meaning of the dream. You might be asked to take a small step forward to your ideal life before more dreams arrive to guide you on the next steps. Having clarity on what you want out of your life, helps the universe to bring it to you. Being able to manifest is a good skill to have. This simple process can help it.

To enjoy your life to the full, it is important to take some steps, no matter how small they are, to achieving your dreams.

Finding the courage to lead the life you desire

Are you fed-up or dissatisfied with your life?

The choices you make today give you the life you experience tomorrow and onwards. Sometimes it takes courage to make the choices you know that are right for you.

Perhaps your decision involves walking away from someone or something which is alright but not great for you. If it was really bad, you probably wouldn’t find it difficult but this grey in- between area is much more difficult. What if I walk away from my partner but never find love again? Thoughts can race around your head and make you miserable.

Courage is about finding your inner strength to face your fear with confidence.

Gaining clarity on what you desire makes decision making easier. Do whatever you like to do to clear your head and get perspective on your life. It may be spending time alone in nature or meditating or physical exercise like running. This helps you to hear your intuition more clearly and connect with you soul or guide for advice.

You are much stronger than perhaps you realise. Making the decisions which lead to a life you desire is not so difficult once you get started.

For years I was a closet psychic medium. I trained hard for many years. But outside of the home, I never told anyone what I was or the strong spiritual beliefs I held. This was made harder as my partner had said to me – 500 years ago they used to burn people like you! In the end, I decided it was crazy leading a dual life. It made me feel less than authentic. Initially I only told family but when I was accepted there, I went on to tell friends. Work was more challenging as there is always the fear of how going public might impact my career. I chose to describe the way I lived more in terms of my life values and believing in compassion and love for one another. I finally got over that hurdle without being fired. Eventually I became a professional psychic medium. The whole world now knows what I am.

It does take courage to be the authentic you and to live the life you desire. But I can honestly say, it is worthwhile. You feel happier and there is no pretence in your life.

Pretending to be who or what you are not, can be so energy sapping.

It was a journey becoming truly my authentic me. I found taking little steps at a time less scary. I did meet some challenging people along the way. But I also met some wonderful people too.

Ultimately, I found the courage to make the right decisions for me about my life.

Is kindness worth the effort?

When I was growing up, I used to play with a small group of girls who lived nearby. Generally, we all got on and we played happily together. After the long summer holidays together, perhaps we had spent too much time together and one of us would say or do something unkind.

When I used to go running to my mum upset, she did not say – oh you poor thing. Instead, she used to ask me to imagine how that person must feel inside to be so unkind. I should feel grateful that I didn’t feel like that.

A little kindness can go a long way.

The pain from unkindness can be intense. It doesn’t remain in childhood with friendship upsets. Unkindness can appear in adult life, often when you least expect it and sometimes from those closest to you such as a partner. The pain can go straight to your heart and make you feel wretched. When you feel like that, it is really hard to step back and not give some unkind response aimed to hurt. But in doing this, the only person you really hurt is yourself. If you are trying to live by strong life values, being unkind is not one of them.

When someone is unkind to you, being unkind to them back is not the right response.

The best way to counter unkindness is to show kindness. It may not be a big thing but a thoughtful, gentle kindness. In being kind to the other person, you are honouring yourself and being kind to yourself too.

We have all been unkind sometime, often through thoughtlessness rather than malicious intent. It takes consideration to use kind words, kind words can be healing, loving and inspiring.

Kindness is such a good contribution to make to this world of ours.

Kindness brings harmony and love to human relationships and living. When kindness is abundant in a relationship, that relationship is often joyful. Living a life surrounded by kindness is a good life.
