Books Alison has found useful on her spiritual journey to explore who she truly is

Personally I find reading books tough, but don’t give up. Books can open a whole new world and interest for you as I found out. It takes me considerable time and effort to read a book. Late in life I found out I was dyslexic. In my late teens my late husband was courting me. We used to go every week to the library in his home town of Chertsey, UK. Embarrassingly he used to take out a great stack of books as he was an avid reader. Grudgingly I took out one book and still I often had to renew it for another week. In desperation at trying to spark my interest in books, my husband chose a book for me. It was on reincarnation. I read it in a week and have never looked back. Since then I have read every spiritual book that has come my way.

Included in Alison’s library are the books and authors who have influenced my development the most.

With the wonderful technology of the 21st century, many of these books are available in audio format as well as printed. So if you are short on time and want to listen to the books while on the go or like me you are dyslexic, this material is accessible to you too. Most of the authors are very generous with their time and also offer free videos on YouTube or their websites. There is plenty of material for your research and education.

Some of these books have been published for many years but I feel they are still as relevant today as when they were first published. They are still very helpful in informing your journey of human development and evolution.

To make these books more digestible, I have grouped them to support each part of your spiritual journey;

  • Beginning Your Journey here
  • Exploring Further here
  • Science & Mysticism here

If you want to read the books out of order, it’s not a problem. You will be attracted by the books that are right for you at the time you are looking at them. If you struggle with a book, put it down and come back later when you are ready to read it. Let your ‘inner you’ guide you. Try to listen to your intuition.

Against each book I have outlined the content, what I found useful in it and if it is an easy read or more of a reference book to be consumed by chapter, thought about and digested before you read the next chapter. I aim to help you to feel whether the book is right for you now and if it resonates with you and your experience of life.
