Men: 3 tips for surviving Christmas

The approach to Christmas can be a challenging time. Not only is it a busy time for the person preparing the Christmas Day celebrations, but tension can run in families where couples do not agree on the style of celebrations. Do you recognise the scenario?
Lets look at some tips for the man of the house….. Tip #1  Remember your partner is doing their best to make Christmas a joyous and happy time for all. A little encouragement can go a long way. Tip #2 Rather than complain about the amount of money being spent, try to find some alternative treats or better still make or cook some. Tip #3 Try not to be grumpy if the treats you want are not the same as those your loved ones want. Flexibility at least for Christmas Day will bring family harmony. Apologies for these suggestions to the men who are encouraging, relaxed about the money being spent and flexible with doing what the rest of the family wants on Christmas Day…… 3 tips tomorrow for women on surviving Christmas.

What is in a smile?

Are you back into the pressure of the working week? It is amazing what a smile can do for you.

When I was growing up, my Mum always used to say to me;

Smile at the world and it will smile back at you.

Having moved to London, I have found few people smile at you in a city. My nieces, who grew up in the Scottish Highlands and now work in London, confirmed that they find the same. It is very unlike home where people smile and say ‘Good morning’. One of them said they were determined to keep smiling at people to see how many she could get to respond. What an excellent idea!

A smile conveys we are peaceful and happy. So what a good way to start your day. Put something near your bed to remind you to smile as you get out of bed. Look in the mirror and give yourself a beautiful smile or turn to your partner and smile. I have found I get a kiss in return.

The source of a true smile is an awakened mind to living in the moment.

Enjoy living in the present moment. A smile will bring peace and happiness not only to you but also to those around you. It is a great way to manage the stress in your life at home and at work.

Why I stopped believing I was separate from the Universe

I was reminded this week of how this view is held much more broadly that perhaps we think. I had a consultation with a hospital specialist this week. He asked me what my job was and when I explained we had an interesting conversation about our links to the universe and the ability of mediums to provide life guidance messages. When people are seriously ill, he confirmed that doctors and nurses saw and heard the unexplainable with their patients. He asked me to demonstrate my skills with messages for him. Here was a man of science but he acknowledged their relevance to him and my ability to bring them to him.

As we grow up we are taught, particularly in the west, that we are separate from each other. If you speak to the recently bereaved and ask them if they have received a message from their passed loved one, you will be surprised how many people say yes. Perhaps we are not as separate as we are led to believe.

Scarcity is another ‘fact’ we are taught as children – money does not grow on trees, eat all of the food on your plate as other people go hungry……

When I read an article by Chris Agnos on the topic it really resonated with me. Read More
