A soul map is a geometric picture that represents you and the key people in your life along with the relationships you have and the key life lessons you may be learning.
Finding your Soul Family through painting your Soul Map
We had a great day on the 27th November learning to create our soul maps. This was the first run through of this workshop but all worked well. The meditation was relaxing and enhanced our inspiration and creativity. The approach to exploring our life lessons were found to be thought provoking. Everyone found the painting enjoyable, calming and let the inner child express him/herself.
Recently I met a Tibetan monk called Wang. He is a man with great humour and wisdom. I do not have a picture of him but I think of him as in the picture of the Tibetan monk in this article.
In the Tibetan culture Wang means empowerment. An empowerment is a ritual which initiates a student into a particular practice. A tantric practice is not considered effective until a master has transmitted the corresponding Wang (power) of the practice directly to the student. As part of the preliminary practices before a student even begins the actual practices, the teacher introduces the student to the ‘mandala’ of the deity.

Finding your Soul Family through painting your Soul Map
Workshop – Sunday 27th November, Notting Hill Gate, London W2 4NY

The one day Soul Family Introductory workshop gives a taste of constructing your first Soul Family picture. No artistic skills are required. No sharing of your lessons and relationships with the group. You colour a geometric shape, much as we used to do as children when we learnt to paint by numbers.
You create your soul map using geometric shapes. The large circle represents the circle of life, the smaller circles individual souls participating in your life and the lines between you are relationships or life lessons you are helping each other with. As this is your soul map, you are at the centre represented by a single circle. Below are some examples of soul maps created by my students.

Islamic art has always been an inspiration to the creation of Your Soul Family soul maps. The geometric shapes used in soul maps aids connection with your ‘inner you’ The picture helps you to hear the messages from your ‘inner you’ so the wisdom in the messages can be brought into your conscious mind.
