Dr Brian Weiss handles important subjects such as anger management, health, empathy, compassion, patience and understanding and more in a similar style to his earlier books. He presents his outlook from his work regressing patients to their former lives and the key lessons they have learnt. Brian then gives a specific example. While this is interesting, the chapters in this book that I found provided fresh thinking and food for thought were on spirituality, love and the future.

On the topic on spirituality, Brian discusses the irrelevance of which religion you may belong to or if you are an atheist, to being spiritual. His view is that from whatever beliefs you may have, you can move to an altered state of consciousness which enables you to be nearer to Spirit. In your daily lives being spiritual means to be more compassionate, caring and kind.

Concerning love, Brian states;

Anger management, health, empathy, compassion, patience and understanding, nonviolence, relationships, security, destiny and free will, contemplation, and meditation, spirituality: all these are steps to immortality. All these must be mastered now or in the future in our journey to the one soul. And all these are facets of the greatest virtue,  which is love.

For the first time in his books Brian Weiss reveals his work in progressing individuals into their potential future lives. The future is not set as with free will our future lives are dependent on how we progress our current life. However it is an indication of what we might expect given the status of our current life. It is still within our power to make new and different life choices.

From many progressions with his patients, Brian has seen a similar pattern for our world which he summarises at 1-200 years out, 3-600 years and beyond 600 years.

An interesting read, I suggest you read the book and draw your own conclusions. You will take from the book what you are ready to hear. It is interesting that I found on re-reading it after a number of years, there was much more I could relate to and accept. Your experience in reading this book will be your own.
