The Power of Love

2022 has brought in lots of change for all of us.  On the world stage political leaders are changing, war, worries on inflation and the cost of living, even Mother Earth is feeling change.  There is much debate on whether there is climate change in process but it is a fact that glaciers and the artic ice is melting.  So, something is changing whether we like it or not.

As individuals we may not be able to influence events on the world stage.  However, your reaction to these events is affected by your state of being.

  • If you are in an anxious state, your reaction often brings feelings of insecurity, anger and fear.
  • If you are calm within yourself, you will acknowledge the event has happened but may wish to send thoughts of calmness and love to the situation and the individuals involved. This is not romantic love but love from your heart in a more impersonal way. It is even alright to send love to the aggressor in the situation so they might start to learn a better way of behaving.

When you look after your own wellbeing, it affects the wellbeing of those around you.  If you are a parent, think of a time when you have been worrying about something.  Often the behaviour of your children seemed to be more difficult at that time.  The ‘inner you’ was out of balance and it affected your children.

Conversely if your state of being is one of calmness, this will influence those around you, friends, loved ones, colleagues and even your neighbours.

It is a known fact that sick people who are prayed for are more likely to get well than those that are not. Experiencing a loving energy around you is very healing. Distance or time do not limit the ability to send someone love. Even someone who has passed can feel the love you send them.

Listen to the needs of your ‘inner you’ or as some call it your soul. Ensure you nourish it sufficiently to achieve a calmness that brings a feeling of peace. It is in this state that you can send love to others or challenging situations.

What can you do to bring calmness into your life so you might more easily express your love?

If you practice meditation, a few minutes every day has real benefit.  Looking after yourself may mean you ensure you get a lunch break, no matter how short.  A walk in a park to be close to nature also brings calmness.  Just being on your own for 10 minutes in a hectic day can have a significant effect.

Listen to your soul;

create your own calmness and contribute your love to our troubled world
