Does your intuition really give good guidance?

Intuition has been recognised over the ages as a ‘gut feeling’ which lets you know if something is not right. Intuition can be much more than an alert mechanism. For me it is a beacon which you can use to listen to messages of guidance from your soul, guide and spirit. It works two ways, so you can ask questions too. Over time you will learn to distinguish the different feel of you soul, guide and spirit so you will know who you are talking to.

How do I feel my intuition?

The messages are not usually in words. They come more as a sensing or knowing. You may also start to see situations or people through your mind’s eye. When I was first training as a medium, I used to look at people with human eyes. But as I learnt to use all of my senses, I started to use my mind’s eye which is the 3rd eye chakra between your brows. It can look more deeply and give you more insight into what is happening in your life. My 3rd eye then connected with my heart and I could feel in my heart what was right. This is why when you ‘speak from your heart’ people hear the truth and authenticity of what you are saying. If you look at public speakers when this moment arrives, without realising it, they often put their hand on their heart.

We all have intuition but somehow over history we have supressed the use of it. It’s a good resource and gives good advice so why not make use of it. The more you use it, the easier it becomes.

What can I use my intuition for?

You don’t need to reserve it for those most challenging times. You can use it for everyday decisions and living. I’ve used it to find lost reading glasses, deciding on how long to set the microwave for individual dishes, knowing where someone has gone and many other everyday situations.

How reliable is the advice from my intuition?

Can you be sure you have received the message correctly? If you are not sure, put it to one side and try listening again another day. If the message is the same, you have probably heard it correctly. It takes time to build up confidence in the messages so you can trust them. Try it out on small things in your life first to enable the trust to build. Even in a busy environment, you can take three deep breaths and go to that quiet place inside. Here is the easiest space to ask a question and to feel the reply. The more you practice and observe, the more you will tap into a deep knowledge and wisdom.

Can I use it at work as well as at home?

You take yourself everywhere you go – so yes! Intuition is more objective and wiser than your normal self. It is full of compassion and love for you. It is never cross, critical or impatient with you. If you receive messages like this, it is your ego talking so don’t listen to it. Of course, in all of this don’t cut your brain off. Still consider a situation with your logical brain for the positives and negatives of it. But then let go and ask your intuition what it thinks. I have seen a Marketing Director in a FTSE100 company listen to the facts of a project, then put his hand on his heart and listen to his intuition. He was a successful man.

Using your intuition effectively takes practice. The more you use it, the more comfortable you will feel about it. Here is a good way of practicing;

  • Close your eyes and focus on your heart.
  • Take 3 deep breaths
  • Think of someone or something that you love.
  • Think of something you want help with in your life – it could be on a job, health, where to live….
  • Ask 3 questions;

    Empowerment: can spirituality help you?

    What do we mean by spirituality? For me, it is about knowing there are two parts to me. Me, the personality who interacts with the world on a day-to-day basis. Me, the soul that is the eternal part of me that has lived many lives and gained some wisdom along the way.

    As you explore your own spirituality you increasingly learn to go within where you discover you are never truly alone. It is within you meet your soul and start to get to know them. Perhaps unexpectedly, it is within you that you find strength, love, and support.

    Your intuition is like a radio sender receiver which is in your heart area. You can use it to communicate with your soul, spirit guide or loved ones in spirit. We all have intuition, but we don’t all learn to use it as we grow up. As you go through your daily life, your intuition will send you guidance to help keep you safe and secure. Generally, the communication is through feelings rather than words. You hear people speak of their gut feeling, something feeling right or not. This is your intuition talking to you.

    Your intuition will guide you to help you make good life choices to create the life you desire. It can take some time to determine who is communicating with you, but if the guidance is good –  use it. Over time you will learn to trust the guidance you receive.

    Ask the name of the person speaking to you. Personally, I find it easier if I know who is talking to me. With a name associated to the energy engaging with you, it makes it easier to recognise the person. The feel of the energy is much like the look of a face of a person. It is how you identify the person.

    Your soul travels around inside of you and is immediately there for you in times of joy, sadness, crisis, and reflection. Your soul is your best friend and will give you good advice. Your soul will give you inspirational thoughts on how to overcome a challenge or how to move your life forwards.

    Try developing your relationship with your soul by asking for help with difficulties in your life. Your soul will always want to assist you. As you become closer to your soul and learn to trust their guidance, you truly step into your own power. Together you and your soul will empower your life to make of it what you will.

    Have courage to give it a try. But know that when things go wrong in life, as they will do sometimes, your soul will be there for you and will pick you up and help you to move forward with your life. Life is for living, learning and enjoying.

    3 steps to hear your messages of love and support

    It’s good to be able to hear your messages as they make you realise you are never really alone. But how do you go about learning to hear them?

    To hear your messages, you will need to find and explore your intuition.
    It is through your intuition your messages will arrive.

    What is your intuition?  For me this is like an internal radio receiver and sender. It is a communication mechanism we all have which is available for you to use. Contrary to what we may have been taught, we are not designed to be alone but rather to be connected to other people.

    There are 3 easy steps to learn to use your intuition;

    Step one is to learn to find your centre of inner calmness, usually around the heart area, and see what messages are arriving.

    Meditation is a great way to do this but not everyone finds meditation easy. Another way to find your calmness is to go for a walk in nature on your own. If you go with a friend, you will be chatting away or if you are walking the dog you will be distracted. Take just yourself out for a walk. Admire nature, look at the sky, watch a beautiful sunset or look at a lovely view. Don’t think about all the things you need to do or the people you may be worrying about. Just enjoy the moment and without trying your energy will relax. When you feel relaxed take your consciousness to your heart and feel the calmness there. It is a very natural way to find calmness.

    Many people just use their intuition naturally and speak of ‘their gut feeling’. Communication is usually by feelings and knowing rather than words. These messages are always positive and uplifting. If they are negative messages, they are probably from your ego and you should stop listening to them.

    Step two: Ask a very simple question.

    A good question to ask your guide is – what is your name? Remember to ask it from your place of calmness where you have the clarity to hear the reply.

    Step three: wait and see if you feel an answer.

    For some people it seems to just arrive, for others it can take some practice. Your message can arrive in many ways – a feeling, knowing, a smell or a picture in your head. Most people don’t hear words. The message may not arrive immediately but over the coming days when something jumps out at you such as the words of a song on the radio. Try to be alert to however the message chooses to arrive.

    If you are unsure if you understood it correctly, ask the same question another day and if you get the same reply, you have probably heard it correctly.

    Enjoy connecting and hearing your messages.

    Tomorrow we will talk about how to discern who is talking to you…..
