Rumi’s Reflections: Alison Wem’s Journal – Day 11

Dance, when you’re broken open.

Dance, if you’ve torn the bandage off.

Dance in the middle of the fighting.

Dance in your blood.

Dance when you’re perfectly free.

Jalal al-Din Rumi

Dance is freedom of movement. When your physical body feels free, your soul experiences a feeling of freedom even while being on the physical plane in a physical body. Dance when you feel down, when you feel happy, when you need to relieve stress or sorrow.

Dance is freedom.
