Open your heart like a beautiful rose

Learning a life lesson to open my heart like a rose: 2 steps to achieving it

This week I drew an angel card to help me understand my purpose at this time in my life.  This is the card I drew.

The rose symbolizes many things including; abundance, beauty, clearing, blessing, dreams, emotional healing, friendship, protection, purification, romantic love, secrecy, self-love and spirituality.  There are lots of good things associated with a rose, so I should be pleased but…

The life lesson I am learning at the moment is to open my heart and trust that I will not be hurt even though past experience has resulted in disappointment and hurt.  It takes courage to open your heart, but without opening your heart you will not experience all the beauty and fullness that life has to offer.

Someone in my soul family gave me the opportunity to practice opening my heart this week.  Sadly I failed to achieve it and deflected the opportunity with anger and general grumpiness.  However at least I was able to take the first step in learning my life lesson;

Observe this challenging situation, how you felt and reacted, what response did it evoke in others?

For me this challenge – a fear of not having enough money, sparked an unreasonable level of anger which is not my natural disposition.  My level of anxiety was raised and I was not a good person to be with.

The next step is;

Understand why you are presented with this lesson and try to understand the lesson you are learning?

Prompted by the angel card, I understood that if I had opened my heart and trusted I would be looked after, the member of my soul family would have helped me to get my fears back into perspective and eased my feelings of insecurity.  Instead I rebuffed him with anger resulting in me feeling my anxiety alone.

Well I got it wrong this time, but at least I now understand myself better.  Hopefully I will choose an alternative way to behave when the next opportunity arrives.  As keep arriving they will until you have learnt your life lesson.

Good luck with your life lessons whatever they are.  I will continue to try to observe, understand and learn.  Try doing the same.
